Taos Ski Valley is a village and alpine ski resort in Taos County, New Mexico, US. The climate, culture, and geography resemble a Swiss village. The ski area, Taos Ski Valley, Inc., was founded by Rhoda and Ernie Blake, and is still managed by the Blake family. It has a one to one ratio of expert to beginner/intermediate terrain, and has the highest rated ski school in North America.

Taos looks like the sort of place that people might try and keep a secret due to its very impressive stats, consistantly solid snowfalls, and the accessability of some seriously good terrain within a short hike from the top of the lifts. The resort gets good reviews wherever you look and with good reason. A highest lifted point of almost 12,000 ft and average snowfalls of 300+ inches, together with a variety areas ranging from friendly to very steep, and that gives you a great mountain by anyones standards.
