To work legally in Japan you will need to possess a valid working visa or working holiday visa.

Backcountry Guides here at Evergreen Outdoor Center, Hakuba, Japan, will be involved in assisting and/or leading full-day backcountry ski & snowboard tours. Staff guiding for the winter season will find stable, secure and satisfying work from December to April. As is the nature of guiding and instruction we require only responsible guides who are serious about their profession and are able to adapt to the clients needs.

Guides will have to have a thorough knowledge of avalanche safety, avalanche forecasting, beacon usage, snow-pack field testing, weather systems, route finding, map reading, rescue, first aid, CPR and strong group leadership skills. Prior backcountry guiding experience and internationally recognised certification in this field are pre-requisites.
