Job Description

Employment

Niseko Boutiques is a boutique accommodation company, based exclusively in Niseko, Japan and is a partner company to Niseko Gourmet, a catering company offering fine dining to guests in their accommodation and Japanese cooking workshops. At both Niseko Boutiques and Niseko Gourmet our concept is simple- High Quality and Personal Service. The secret to our success is the attention we pay to every detail and we pride ourselves on a level of service that exceeds the expectations of our guests.  As a result we select the best possible people to achieve our goals.  You must be dynamic, professional, service oriented and committed to providing the best experience to our guests.

The key members of our team are our chefs, hosts and drivers.

Niseko Boutiques Host and Driver

Niseko Boutiques is looking for enthusiastic and friendly hosts and drivers to join our team, who are efficient, flexible and conscientious in their approach to work. To get the most out of a ski season you'll need to be prepared to work hard and really enjoy working as part of a team. The ski season is a fantastic way to spend the winter and although the hours can be demanding and long, your rewards are plenty of time on the mountain side and a great social life. It is an excellent way to experience working in the hospitality industry and the ideal way to meet plenty of new people.

The role of a Host is to over see the running of an individual meal, be it breakfast or dinner as well as the daily management of all guest services. Your job will include ensuring your guests are well cared for from the time they arrive and throughout their time with Niseko Boutiques. You will be responsible for the presentation of the chalets with assistance from the Driver/host where needed. You will also work with the Niseko Gourmet team hosting at breakfasts and dinners and, where required, assisting in the cooking school.
You should have a full clean driving license and internationally valid driving license, valid for driving on the roads of Japan.

The Driver / Host has three primary roles. The first which takes priority is driving of Niseko Boutiques vehicles collecting guests from their accommodation, the Niseko Gondola, Ace Quad Lift or Family lift and taking them wherever they wish within Hirafu between 8.30-10.30am and 3.30-5pm. You will also be required to help where necessary with the delivery of chalet supplies and/or guest supplies. Occasionally you may be needed to work in our chalets or with the Niseko Gourmet team. If a driving job is required though, this would be performed before other jobs. You should have a full clean driving license and internationally valid driving license, valid for driving on the roads of Japan.

As a team, the host, driver and chef will create a warm and friendly atmosphere so that guests can enjoy the high standard of personal service for which Niseko Boutiques is renowned. Our aim is that each of our guests experience superior service in every aspect of their holiday which we hope will exceed their expectations.

As a guide line the roles of the host and driver will include:

  1. Driving guests from their accommodation to designated points within Hirafu village and collecting them in the afternoon to bring them home.
  2. General hosting of the guests. Ensuring at all times they are comfortable and have all their requirements met.
  3. Ensuring the properties are presented at the highest standard
  4. Ensuring the vans are kept clean and tidy at all times.
  5. Clearing snow from the chalets and office as required.
  6. Ensuring a warm welcome to your guests on arrival at the property or the Welcome Centre.
  7. Serving at the table during meal times and assisting the chef and host in the kitchen during meals.
  8. Ensuring all cutlery, crockery, wine, etc is packed and organised in preparation for the upcoming meals and that everything is packed away when leaving.
  9. Laying the dining table for all meals served in the properties.
  10. Assisting with the running of the Japanese Cooking Workshops.
  11. Clearing the table and assisting with dishes throughout the meal.
  12. Liaising with the Managing Director on a regular basis to discuss guest requirements and details.
